“SOLE” – Micasa and Sula launch joint collection

Sula x Micasa
5. marzo 2024

The Swiss furniture store Micasa and the Zurich design studio Sula are jointly launching a limited collection. With its gentle colour gradients, “SOLE” is reminiscent of sunrises and sunsets on the lake and their reflections on the water. The collection of home accessories and outdoor furniture exudes joy and optimism – and suits every home. Following its cooperation with SBB and the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, SOLE is the second collaboration that Micasa is launching this year. SOLE will be available exclusively from Micasa from 19 March and will also be presented to an international audience at Milan Design Week in mid-April.

“SOLE awakens a longing for holidays and relaxation after a hard day’s work, for the carefree days in life when you can dangle your feet in the cool water,” says Nadja Stäubli, Creative Director and founder of Sula. It is important to her to create a design that makes people happy, is accessible to everyone and suits every household. According to Micasa Creative Director Maxime Zenderoudi, these shared values are the basis for the collaboration with the brand: “Optimism and simplicity can be found in all of Sula’s designs. Both are also core values of Micasa.”

SOLE consists of 48 products that have been created in close collaboration, yet all bear Sula’s unmistakable signature. In addition to home accessories such as bed linen, cushions and tableware, the collection also includes everything you need for a summer’s day by the water. This includes beach towels and beach bags, as well as parasols and sun loungers. The colour palette ranges from soft aquamarine and pink to mint green, deep sky blue and a special shade of red reminiscent of sunsets. The collection is full of surprises: some products from the collection are easy to take with you, others are reversible and can be integrated into any setting. Whether you actually have a view of the lake or not, SOLE manages to exude the very special atmosphere associated with it.

Democratising good design

Collaborations such as the project with Sula are one of the cornerstones of the Micasa brand’s new strategy and reflect the furniture retailer’s new, markedly bolder design orientation. Micasa has already launched two collaborations on the market since the beginning of the year, with more to follow. Maxime Zenderoudi: “We have a clear mission: to democratise good Swiss design and make it accessible to everyone.”

The fact that Micasa and Sula are presenting the SOLE collection to an international audience at Milan Design Week confirms that the furniture retailer is on the right track. From 15 to 21 April, the collection will be shown as an immersive installation at the House of Switzerland Milano. During this week, Milan will become a hub for interior, product and object design, with the House of Switzerland Milano representing the diversity of Swiss design as a meeting place for up-and-coming designers, independent studios, established brands and universities. The curated group exhibition on the theme of “Joy” is presented by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia and Presence Switzerland at the Casa degli Artisti.

SOLE is available exclusively in all Micasa branches and in the online shop from 19 March for a limited time.
